I have successfully applied texture maps to my polygon model but I haven't been able to figure out how to actually delete the projections. I just have to select the faces and apply another planar projection but that means the channle box lists 12 projection instead of the 8 I only need. CAn you delete them safely in some other window? I didn't see that question answered in the Learning Maya 3 book? I have Maya 3 on Win2000.Thanks!

In the hypershade try Edit->delete unused nodes. This will remove any node that isn't assigned to something.
Hope this is what you mean.

Okay, you have only two ways to do so : delete history and reassign projections, or look at the history tree of your object in the hypergraph, and try to deconnect projections from the history. I highly recommend you to duplicate your scene before playing with history and hypergraph, but this is the only way I see to get rid of those projections. Hope this helps

It sounds like that may be the ticket. I guess I will have to be more careful in placing thoseprojections. Thanks for all of the replies!
If you are transferring projections at all find the the copy/pasteProjector scripts available in the scripts section. It will allow you to copy a polyProjection and re-apply it to another object or selection.
