Dell Or Hypersonic Laptops

Hai

Can anybody tell me, wheather Dell o Hypersonic laptops are good. Dell is costly and Hypersonic is cheap(both looked on equal configuration). But i didnt see anyone using Hypersonic laptops. I will be using Maya and Digital Fusion.

Does anyone use Hypersonic computers for 3D and Digital Compositing.

Also please tell me wheather to go for Intel Dual core or AMD.

The Dell workstation laptops are expensive, but I actually find their notebooks otherwise to be reasonably priced. I don't know much about Hypersonic but their Aviator CX7 Duo Core with an Nvidia Quadro FX Go 1400 should be fine for running Maya. The other desktop replacements notebooks that they offer have no equivalent from Dell in a workstation portable. =-( I have an intel Core Duo workstation notebook, an Intel Dual Core Pentium D desktop, and an AMD Dual Core workstation. The AMD Dual Core chips, IMHO, are the fastest of the bunch. They, so far, are faster than the Intel Dual Core machines from my experience. The Intel Core Duo notebooks are pretty fast as well.. but they are no subsitute for a Dual Core desktop|workstation. The Hypersonic Aviator FX7 or CX7 Duo with a Quadro FX Go 1400 should run Maya fine.

You told that you got " intel Core Duo workstation notebook". Which companies notebook it is and are you using it for running maya or digital fusion. What type of graphics card do you use in your notebook.

Can you suggest me any other notebook other than Dell, which would run Maya good.

I'm using an HP nw8440 with a FireGL V5200 and the T2600 Core Duo. I use it primarily for Maya work. I no longer use Digital Fusion... (switched to After Effects and Combusion)... but have never really had issues with running Digital Fusion on different hardwre combinations. Actually.. the HP notebooks are reasonably priced for workstation graphics. You might also want to look at the IBM T60, or T43p. Dell, HP, and IBM are the only officially qualifed notebook vendors for Maya but you should be fine with NE notebook as long as it contains an ATi or Nvidia OpenGL mobile gpu. If you have the cash there's the Alienware MJ-12 m7700i or the Boxx GoBoxx 2300. Unfortunately the most powerful OpenGL cards seem to be in the Dell, HP, and IBM machines.
