I am evaluating Fusion and have been looking at the DFScript beta documentation.
Concerning running Fusion jobs remotely :
I can definitely see the client-server model between DFScript and Fusion, but in order for scripting to be used Fusion (the server) must already be open. That is logical. However, in order to make this work for me I'll have to write a perl wrapper that opens Fusion and then forces it to close. There will also be windows popping-up on remote machines, which is a little wierd. You could argue that I could have Fusion running all the time, like a true server process, however these remote machines are used for other tasks and I don't want Fusion holding onto memory.
Can Fusion be opened (and closed) from DFScript? And can it be opened in a non-gui mode? [I don't know if the Render-Only software opens a window or not...]
It would be a little more elegant for me if these things were true. If not, it's not a huge deal.
Oh, and DFScript looks very cool! Thanks for posting the documentation.
