Difference between 8x AGP and 8xAGP Pro?

Can someone explain to me if there is a different between these two specifications? I'm not up on all the latest in terms of graphics cards, and I'm looking at an 8x AGP card, but a mobo that says it supports 8x AGP Pro. The slots appear compatible with the card, but just looking at it doesn't really say much.

Can someone fill me in? If there is a diff, whats the better way to go? is ago pro a gaming setup?

Yes there is a difference.. you can use an AGP card with AGP Pro slot but not the other way around. The pro slot provides additional power and connectors for the Pro card.

Also keep in mind that AGP 8x comes in two flavors, 1.5volt and 3.0volt. The P4 865 chipset for example comes with the 1.5volt flavor and will NOT run your newer video cards like the Geforce 6800. I found this out the hard way. =D

To be honest with you i think the Pro spec is the 3.0 volt.

SO how does the Pro50 or Pro100 spec fit into all of this. Alot of motherboards I've seen say they support 8xAGP Pro (and some specify a voltage, usually 1.5v). But they don't explicitly say they support the AGP Pro50 or AGP Pro100 cards. And yet, there's alot of cards out there that call their cards by these specifications. So there seems to be a gap of communication between what mobo manufacturers provide in their technical specifications, and what video card manufacturers provide in theirs.

The setup I'm looking at is a mobo with a 1.5v Pro AGP slot, and an ATI Pro50 card. But will they actually work together?
