Hi. I am trying to create a peace of cloth that is made of different Panels. I wonder if its possible to apply different shaders to them (lets say, the Front of the shirt has a leather like shader and the arms have silk shaders of different color). Have not figured out yet how this works. Thank you for your help.
cloth is polygonal, so per-face material assignment would work. another thing You should think about (and that could be even more important) is different cloth properties for each panel to acheive leather behave like leather and silk accordingly.
True. So its two Solvers and two Shaders for one cloth object... I think it's time for digital-tutors cloth DVD... I don't think I'll master that without a bit a deeper exploration of those tools...Thank you for the tip!
solver would be the same, but, perhaps You haven't noticed, there is a way to make/assign dynamical "material" (clothProperty) to garments.. afaik there are few default silk, denim etc pre-defined ones.
Hi Doc. Ok, I figured out how to use different cloth properties on one Solver. Thank you. Maby you could help me with that as well: I now have the body of the Shirt and the Arms of the Shirt. As soon as I stitch the arms to the Body, it all becomes one cloth object and the properties of the "arm-cloth" are lost and it takes on the properties of the "shirt-cloth". Can something be stitched together without sharing the properties?
perhaps I am wrong, but as far as I remember theres paint tool for cloth properties. Just write somewhere down those attribute values from both of clothPorperties and paint different ones with propper values. Personally never did this far, so after this You'll be more skilled than I am. goodluck.
