i while back i found a good website with free maya downloadable videos. it had everything from basics to advanced. i no longer have the site and would love to get it back. if anyone knows of any sites like it or what im speaking of please post it

nah thats not the site but thnx for the try...i dont think 3dbuzz even has any video tutorials.
Actually, they have over 100 video tutorials on a variety of software subjects, and they are free. Probably the best you will find on the net... for free...

any good sites with free tutorials that arent just about scaling, moving, render globals and all that basic stuff?
Ok the problem is this... Once you pass a certain levll of knowledge then the tutorials start to become total giberish for most users. Simply for the reason that its no use to start form the begining. Alos doing theese things a s video tutorials is a bit suspect too because a lot of things need explaining and youd just end talking alot on those videos, wich you might do in text as well. And besides then the users know how to pertalte the software. And the visual part wouldnt be that usefull to begin with as its internals mostly.
Besides its much easier to search for things in a text document. (ok so the vide omaker would in all honest way need to publish both the video and text)
the 3 problem is that its much more expensive to send out video content. Its no fun having a tutorial out for free if the delivery costs you 100$ a month.
