Dual Xeon Users HELP! Hyperthreading!

Hi,

There must be some XSI users out there who use Dual Xeon processors.

Well I need your help. As you know with Hyperthreading the TWO CPUs appear as FOUR CPUs.

Well XSI will use only TWO of those virtual processors and so it uses only ONE REAL CPU!

What is the way out of this mess?

Try disabling hyper threading. Then see what happens.

which ones do you have by the way? 2.2ghz dual ? or 2.4?
Which mother board do you have? I was looking at the a Supermicro P4DC6 the other day I may pick one up. Tell me what happens.

also be aware that windows 2000 does not support hyperthreading . win2k will report the cpu's as 4 logical and give incorrect distribution of jobs to threads. You need to be running win2k advanced server or xp pro to get proper use of the 4 cpu's
