Duncan's Confetti Tutorial

I am trying the confetti tutorial from Duncan's Corner and whenever I replay the scene from frame 1, the simulation doesn't start until the frame I previously stopped it on.
eg. If I play it then stop it on frame 15 then rewind and play again, I have to wait until frame 15 before the confetti starts to break apart. If I then stop it on a later frame like 30 then it waits until frame 30 the next time I play it.
It does the same thing when I download the simpleConfetti.ma file that Duncan supplies.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

That's odd. Make sure you have "play every frame" in your options. Also if you loaded a file perhaps you have 30 fps in your prefs, in which case the start frame might be a fractional frame. If so, reset your playback range to start exactly on 1.

Also make sure you have nCloth toggled on in your panel "show" menu. Otherwise the turbulence field( which helps break up the bits ) will only evaluate the first time through( this is a current bug with fields applied to nCloth).

Thanks Duncan. I had all the settings the way you suggested. Oddly enough when I try it now, it works. Not sure why. Obviously the problem was on my end somewhere. Thanks for the response.
