Emitting light from objects

is it possible to emit light from an object in xsi2? i have a lightbulb in a lamp but i dont know how to get the bulb to look as if it is lit.

any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

give the bulb a constant white material and turn on final gathering

I would place a point light into the bulb and turn off shadow rays for the bulb.

Then, I would put a glow on the bulb, render it separately and composite it over the beauty pass.
