EP Curve not Visible? What am I Doing Wrong?

I select the EP Curve menu option and my cursor turns to the cross hairs for placing two or more curves. I place two or more curves and press Enter and no curve is visible. Although the curve2 or 3, etc. appears in the outliner?! I click on the move tool and a light blue square appears at 0,0,0. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to create a line for a motion path.

When you select the move tool, are ANY of your snapping buttons at the top of the Maya GUI on?

I've had this problem before when my snap to curve was left on for some reason:)

Also your wievport might be instructed not to show curves...
