Error serializing AE plugins

I’ve installed Knolls Lens Flares in to Combustion yet every time I start it up it asks me do you want to serialize AE plugins. I select yes and then get a message which says Error serializing plugins. They work fine but it’s a pain to go through this every time. I’ve tried re-installing, same result. I'm running Win2K

Hi

Once you have installed the plugs, select them in the installation directory & get Properties (Alt+Enter). Make sure that they are not marked as Read Only. combustion* needs to write to the actual plugin file to serialize it, so if it can't do that you'll get an error.

I took a look but all the permissions are fine and they're not write protected. So back to the drawing board I guess.
