Export obj with mtl?

Anyone know of a plug-in that exports the texture and color information (as an mtl file) when you export as an obj?

Previous posts have asked this, but they concern 3.* or earlier versions of Maya. Has mtl export support been added since then?

Not that I know of.. BTW what program are you exporting to that actually understands .mtl?

I am writing a very bare bones real-time graphics engine as part of a school research project. It currently loads obj's, and I was hoping I could use the mtl standard to set the texture maps. Guess not.

I suppose you could use MEL to create .mtl shader descriptions that are based on the paramters you set in Maya. I'm nto famialir witht he .mtl format but if you could find some examples of it you should beable to figure it out.
