Do you mean Paint Skin Weights Tool? Anyway I did use that after importing the skin weights without any problems I even added some vertices to.
I have not textured my character yet but I dont think that it will be any problems becasue I will use Deep Paint 3D and only use one file texture. But I cant really see the problems to change mapping for texturing after you have applied the skin weights, I havent tried it but I think it would work.
So what I did was:
- Skinned the model
- Painted the skin weights
- Exported the skin weights
- Opened another scene with the same model
- Assigned automatic mapping to the model
- Skinned the character to the same skeleton as I used in the earlier scene.
- Imported the skin weights
And for me this worked perfect..
