Hello People, after a lot of years working with Linear workflow i'm starting to use EXR as textures, since there's a problem with .map files and maya 2014.
So i use imf_copy to convert a tif to a EXR tiled mipmap image.. the problem now is the linear workflow. The thing is, if i'm using EXR files as textures, i should not gamma correct anything, cause it will be straight LINEAR, (at least that is what i assume).. but when i render i get washed out renders.. the problem i believe, is in the convertion of the TIF to the EXR, i think IMF_COPY conserve the sRGB profile instead applying a linear srgb, cause when i open the EXR texture in the render viewer at 32bit, it has the same color than the tif.. but when i open the EXR in photoshop it says "linear SRGB" as color profile. so i'm lost here..
this is what i'm using
imf_copy -p -r -k zip file.tif file.exr
does anyone know more about this?,
how can i convert to EXR Tiled Mimap image and assing linear profile?
i would like to work straight with a linear profile without re adjust gamma until the compositing.
thanks a lot!
