Hey all,
Maya 8/OS X user here. I recently transitioned from ver 7 and never had this problem before...can anyone help?
I'm extruding a set of edges (poly or sub-d) and click the manipulator dot to switch to world axis mode because I want to move the new edges along a world axis. When I do this, the manipulator centers on the OBJECT's original pivot point...in Maya 7 and previous versions (as far as I know), the manipulator would center on the SELECTION's center point when switching to world axis mode. (For example, the manipulator would center on the geometric center of the selected edges in world space mode).
This is really annoying, since most of the time when you want to rotate or scale a selection, you want to do it about the selection's center, not the object's.
Can anyone help me out? I assume it's just a setting buried somewhere but I just can't figure it out!!
Thanks for your help!
