What do you mean its not there? Descibe how you want to snap to thet said face. I can think of 15 differend things you would eant to snap to a face.
Category I You want to snap components:
1) you want to draw sonmething on a face. -> make the object live! 2) You want to move a point to the face, exactlly same solution applys as above. 3) You want to move a point thats part of the face to a new location ON the face ok now this si trickyer you can do it but you dont actualy want to do this in mel because quite frankly youd NEVER ever use it again after youve made it because it would be such a hit on your workflow. However what you want is to use a live copy of said object.
OR snap aliong 2 edges wich is allmost as fast as switching to tool and back
3) you want to snap to face centers 5) You want 1 but you dont want to be restricted to the live object. -> use live object anyway 6) you need parametric snappingmagnets -> split 7) you just want to make a tool for a tools sake. 8) You need to restrict yourself to one face. -> copy said face and make it live 9) you want yoruself constrained on the faces plane but want to be able to move ebyond it. -> make a contruction plane on the tri and make it live 10) Use constrains
Category II:
you want to snap objeccts.
1) make live 2) use the snapping tools in the edit menu 3) use object consterain 4) you want to make a tool
