Facial Rig Limits

I am making a facial rig, and I've just about completed it. I showed it to a teacher and he told me to set limits on the deformers. I agree that there should be ranges to how far the deformers (in this case, clusters) can move. The easy way I can think to fix this is to create controllers for the deformers using set driven keys. Now, I have seen facial rig controllers that can only move in a specified range (ex: can only move in the Y axis from -1 to 1 and will not move any farther than that). I tried thinking of a MEL code that would solve this, but my MEL knowledge isn't that good and my attempts usually clamped the controller down and wouldn't move.

How do you set movement limits for controllers?

Thanks guys

Check the mel reference for this command :

transformLimits

You don't need to use MEL to do it (although it's certainly easier if you have a lot of controls). If you just want to set a couple of quick limits, select your control, open up the attribute editor, navigate over to the transform node, and roll down the "Limit Information" arrow. You can set limits for translate, rotate, and scale. If you have custom attributes, you can set the limits at creation time, or right click and "edit attributes."
