I have a problem regarding exporting as FBX. The situation is a such that my friend is exporting a model as an FBX from Cinema4D (fbx does a cleaner job than obj since the model isn't perfectly clean some ngons and tris). Maya import the FBX flawless. I did a quick animation test and tried EXPORT ALL>FBX uncheck 'import edge smoothing' but when I hit export Maya thinks for a sec then dies.
So I did a new attempt. Imported the model and as soon as it was imported I hit EXPORT ALL > FBX and Maya crashed again. We tried cleaning up the Cinema 4D file as much as possible, re-export, import and then export again, still crashes.
The model itself is fairly heavy but not too crazy.
If anyone has any idea what could be going on, please advice on any possible solution.
