Fcheck Crashing

Anyone knows what can make fcheck crashes after try to load a animation sequence?

This is making me crazy

i think this is also affecting maya live, i cant see the image sequence progress while tracking, i could before.

sounds like a graphics carrd glitch.... maya 7 has a veryy different requirement form the gpu than maya 6.5 had Upgrade your drivers.

I just changed to catalyst 5.10 and it is still crashing.
Any more ideas?

newer is not equal to better... The live and fchek are probably not related to eachother.

But yes both use opengl to accelerate the image so both can be graphics cvard glitches. Also maya and ATI is usualy a very bad combo. Something you should have known when you got maya.

But that said the other is probably a ogl thing and the other something else. Is ist possible thatyou have a damaged memchip. Ive seen icomputers get mighty wierd whan one is. (no no the startup chek wont know if theres one bbits worth of flaw its not that accurate)

Nothing is constant! maya 7 made a lot of changes on stuff.

But if i load still images it loads ok, the problem is with animation sequence

Sure but you msut understand that a sequence is much harder on yoru graphicsboard, and memory. Anyway you canallways use the maya 6.5 fcheck.

ALSO if you are on windows is it possible you have outo update on. I mena microsoft did releasea a package thet autoupdated and prettymuch broke winodws.

I am going crazy too. But whats weird is that it worked for a while.

Tried open Gl and Direct

Only crashing animations

Same problem here with nvidia card right after I change to a newer driver, the problem now is that i don't remember what driver was the correct one
After installing few drivers I have the same problem. 81.98, 81.86, 77.56, 77.76, 56.64
Even without a gfx driver fcheck crashes, I think is more of Windows XP problem than a Driver/fcheck problem.
I may re-install windows and see if it can be fixed.

Fcheck in Maya 7.0 remembers the frame rate that was last used in fcheck. When I updated to Maya 7.0, fcheck's frame rate was set to zero and when an animation was read in from within fcheck, fcheck would crash.

Start fcheck from the command line setting the frame rate to a non-zero value using the command:

fcheck -n 1 100 1 -r 30 name.#.iff

Fcheck will now remember the frame rate 30fps and will work correctly when you open an animation.
