Fcp To Shake Issues

Hello,

I have had a major issue with deying exporting individual shots from FCP. The footage is DVCProHD (960x720) 23.976fps and my sequence set up the same (in fact I let FCP conform the sequence to the footage, so it theoretically should be perfect). When I import the footage into shake, it treats it as square pixels and stretches it to be 1280x720, the problem is when I pull a key, all of the edges are jagged or stair-stepped. If I try the original footage, all is good. I exported the footage from FCP the exact way it went in. So.. somewhere along the FCP road, it modifies the clip, I'm just wondering what the work around would be.

hiya,

try opening the clip in QT and look at the move properties (command-J).
in the visual settings you should see that the clip is in fact 960x720, but display is set to 1280x720.
uncheck keep proprtions and set the display settings to 960x720.
hit save and load the clip in shake again.

if that doesn't work there's probably something weird with the export settings.

in your shake globals tab, you should change the format to match, or if you want an exact match in both applications, the quickest way is to use the "send to shake" function built right in. i dont know, its always worked for me.
