female model

Hi!
This is a model I've been working on in subdivisions. I made her in two parts, the head and the body
But when I merged them together, she became a bit hard to work with.
It takes me like five minutes to open the file in Maya and almost the same time to modify anything else.
I was hoping of texture and animating her, but with this speed I wont be finished before the next christmas.
I was thinking of converting her to polys. But I'm unsure of how it will be to animate that.
Any critic or suggestions would be apriciated.

I am trying to make a female Model myself and i know how hard it is to get the proportions right.

She looks a little "stuffed" but maybe that is the desired look. I like the nose but i think the upper lip is should be bigger at the sides ( sorry i am german and i don't know the exact terms ))

the belly is cool too. The breast look a little weird.. but i can't put my hand on it... what i mean is i can't say why... i think they should be more round in the towards the middle

Keep up the good work...

If you like i can send you some of my pics and you can tell me what i should improve. I think it is not ready for this forum yet. They would cut me to pieces )

Cheers

Phil

hey,
how exactly did you build it? was it one of those things where you made the rough shape using polygons and then converted it? cause that may make the model heavy. Otherwise, I would try deleting history on her. that should solve most of the problems. Also, assign her to a seperate layer from your skeleton so you can turn it off when you animate. you may also want to consider a low poly wrap. I know your frustration though. Im working with a heavy model myself and it is like wrestling an alligator sometimes.

I would really apriciate that. You know when you have worked whith a piece to long you just can't se what's "right and wrong"
It's much easier if you can compare with something else

Yeah, I made her from one rough polygon piece, most of the modeling is done in subdivisions mode. I guess it's the wrong way to go if you don't want to get a heavy model.
I tried to delete the history though, but it didn't seem to help that much.

are you going to put clothes on her? might be a good idea.

Hi!
To me, it looks like your upper and lower bodies are out of proportion with each other. Her lower torso and legs look a little short (not much space between her belly button & crotch), and you might want to make her hips a little wider. The modeling itself looks really nice- good definition!
