Hello
i observe that i write a lot on this forum this past 3 days. mmmmmmmm
But it's like that,... i need your help
So..i have a problem when i import a video file from FCP .... The size of my files is not correctly interpreted (PAL 16/9)
i set the correct format in the general setting (s - shortcut)
Then for my file (who is not well reconized) i change the format too...
But when i export, or simply check in the viewer the format is not correct.
When i generate a checkerboard, a color,... then the format is correct but never for my imported files.
And an another question, why the viewer not retain my general settings (Frame rate, aspect ratio,...)
I don't know what to do

hi,

based on what i saw, the viewer locks to the input size and aspect ratio,
not the script format. that's why changing the root.format does'nt do
anything in the viewer.

instead of changing the format of your footage, have you tried to put
a reformat node ? do you still have size problems ?
did you also set correctly the aspect ratio in your new format ?
1.42 i guess for your pal 16/9

Hi thanks for the help,
First i have put a reformat node between my read and my viewer. Yes it's works but is it not strange to need to put one.
usually if my video file comes directly from the capture, i don't need a reformat. (+ is it the reformat change somethings in my output? Quality,...).

Second what do you mean by --- your new format --- do you speak about the format in the read file? If it is, yes it's set to the right format. but it doesn't affect my viewer setting (size)

Another things that i have observed is when i open my video source in Quicktime and look the info (apple+i)
The info seems a little bit strange
Format: uncompress 10bit...., 720*576 (767*576), Millions
Normal size 767 * 576 pixels

I don't know if that comes from the square or non square pixels ?
