I can not get my flex licence to work in red hat interprise. I am buel booting with xp and i was told by alias that all i had to due was to copy the file to /var/flexlm
for some reason red hat say's their is an error in the file.
what do i need to do??
hello,
I had the same problem as you, but I use Ubuntu. In my case the linux OS read my ethernet ID differently then my XP OS. Go into Windows do the "FLexLm license Utillity" and record what the app gives you. Then boot up Red Hat and run the linux version of the application and see what it outputs. There is the chance they will output different ethernet ID's. Try reporting the issue and see what happens make it known that your not the only one!!!!!!!
note: your "aw.dat" file is generated based on your Ethernet ID, if your ID's are different on your OS's your screwed because Maya always checks your hardward before it boots in order to compare/check it to/against your license.

It's possible the FLEX License dat file was corrupted when you copied it or you didn't enable write access to the root directory /var/flexlm. Log in as Root (Administrator) and just move the entire file to /var/flexlm.
