Flipbook quits on me!

My flipbook tends to quit with the message
"flipbook.exe has created errors and will be shut down by Windows". This happens in particular after 1.)XSI quit rendering for some reason or 2.) if not all pictures of a sequence have been fully rendered and I try to load up the ones that are rendered.

Once I get the error-message I cannot get the flipbook to work again, no matter what I try (restart cmputer etc.); I always get the same error message.

I can get it all working again by completely reinstalling XSI and the Render-server, which is a real hassle.

Can anybody help? Does the flipbook keep some kind of log? 1000 Thanks!

did you install the opengl fix 1.3 fromthis site.

it crashed nmy flipbok all the time.

Yes, I did install the fix from this site because it it SO NICE, fixing my GeForce3 display problems.
The next time I use the flipbook I will try to take out the fix temporarily, see how it goes.

Rename the opengl32.dll (in the bin directory) and test out your flipbook. If it works then rename it back to the original name and move the Flip.exe into a different folder. Then add that folder path to the system path.

You are welcome.

Either use "User Tools" (Start>Programs>Softimage>User Tools,) Edit the Setenv.bat, add the path for flip.exe to the line called path. For example" C:softimagenewflip

or

Right click on "My Computer" and choose properties. Set the path in the path section of the Environment area.

I did what you suggested and somehow the OpenGL32.dll-file still crashes the flipbook which is now in an isolated folder in C:Softimageflipbook on my computer and it has been removed from bin
(there are actually 2 files: flip (152 KB) and flipbook (40 KB), I moved both of them to the new destination.

Without the OpenGL32.dll-file in bin the flipbook opens without problems but once I move it into bin it makes the flipbook crash again. I have set the paths as you had suggested in both Windows (Properties-Advanced-Environment Variables: Variable (flip.exe) and Value (C:SoftImageflipbook) and the User Tools (Setenv.bat: set Path=%XSI_BINDIR%;%Path%;C:SoftImageflipbook).

Maybe I am missing something...

Hmmm.... I don't know why it does not work. Wish I could help. Perhaps someone else here knows?
