Floating Window

Hey all, I'm looking to create a simple script that will open a floating window inside Maya, and to have that window display a certain camera in my scene. Can anyone help on this?

I'm basically looking to create a separate window with a camera that will always be perpendicular to some facial controls I setup to a character I will be animating.

ha, or maybe I could look for one more sec and see that you can tear off a window...

No problem, here you go (just swap out your camera name as appropriate)

string $window = window -widthHeight 150 75 -title "TJ's Floating Window" tj\_window;
paneLayout;
modelPanel -cam "camera";
showWindow $window;

////////////

And I'll go you one more. Map this to a hot key to toggle the window size down to nothing or back up to whatever size you want. I have this set to my "d" key. Sweet!

int $tj_win_vis = (window -q -h tj\_window);
if ($tj_win_vis > 50){
window -e -wh 1 1 tj_window;
}
else if ($tj_win_vis < 50){
window -e -wh 1200 900 tj_window;
}

This is the answer to my request for building an interface for character control !!!

floating window focusing on a set of curves and planes that have set driven keys on them

I was just looking in the wrong section...

Thank you

dear god you have mapped your d key...

If you ever wonder why repositioning the pivot is so hard for you its because youve actualy mepped the only key thet makes it a breeze to do since the way insert works is MUCH slower, in terms of usabilitu besides d is next to the snaps sia ll you need is d and v downa at the same time an milldclik and youve se the pivots location to vertex under pointter)
