Hi everyone. I'm tasked with created a fireball that travels across screen at speed, and hits a tree.
I've already got a good looking fireball in Max using FumeFX, but I'd prefer to get the same effect in Maya, so we don't have to buy another 5 copies of MAX!
Anyway, My problem is... I can get the fire sim looking good, just like the reference, but once the emitter starts moving fast through the container, it's emission becomes very stepped, looking like a particle emitter clycing on and off. I can't find any settings to 'oversample' the simulation, like I can in 3dsMAX.
Any Ideas?
Someone mentioned to move the container with the flying object too, so that the container size can stay small. I have had odd results doing this.. Hasn't worked so far.
