Font Problems

Hello,
Has any run into the problem of fonts not showing up in the text node. I have Franklin Gothic fonts I need and the just won't show up. Other fonts I have added work just fine. Any Ideas?

Prob' the font's are in wrong file-formate, have had the same prob' with Franklin as a matter, either u have to get a hold of franklin in a supported format (see the manual) or convert u'r excisting fonts, TransType Pro seems to be working, I just tried it briefly in demo-mode before I chached work-flow.

Thanks, I am pretty sure its not the file format. Other fonts of the same type work. I was talking to Chris Maynard at cmiVFX he said he had the same problem with the Franklin Gothic fonts. Weird? But I will give TransType Pro a go.

Judging from my font collection and what's showing up in Shake it seems that it only supports TrueType and .dfont (apple's format) fonts along with some Type1 fonts, none of the OpenType fonts are showing up.

I have the same problem with a number of fonts -- just show up as little circles. Never went any further with debugging, and instead have been choosing other fonts.

when i had similar probelms under windows shake i used this solution :
using highlogic's Font Creator Program
load your custom font>select all glyphs
load a font working fine in shake (look in shake's font directory) > paste
"Automatic rename" the font (not just the file name but the name tag of the font)
Make sure the font name is unique !
Instal it

I guess there must be a similar font editor under osX ..
