Force Maya To 30fps Default?

Never mind, found an old post on this topic..............

Maya always defaults to 24fps.

However, there are large numbers of Maya users who primarily work in 30fps.

Is there a way to force Maya to default to 30fps? The software always reverts back to 24fps anytime you start a new scene.

1) is this annoying to always have to go into preferences to change the frame rate, and

2) this can become more than a nuisance when someone forgets to change one scene to 30fps and then tries to incorporate that scene into others that are at 30fps.

well you could copy prefs set to 30fps into any new install of Maya or use the Default scene function of the New Scene file command

So, what is the answer here? I'm not intimately familiar with MEL so I could a more detailed answer.

this has nothing to do with MEL

setup a scene file the way you like and save it some where, then in the options of the New Scene menu command you can select that scene as the default so that everytime you create a new scene it has the settings you made in the file you saved

I thought it had something to do with changing userPrefs.mel or something I couldn't find like newScene.mel.
