Frame Reordering

Hi!
I am an editor trying to learn Shake... which i'm starting to love!

I didn't learn about scripting yet but i'm pretty sure it must be really easy to reorder the frames of a sequence:

let's say we divide the sequence in grups of five frames:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

and i'd like to have the following:

1 - 3+4 - 2+5 - 4

where frames 3+4 and 2+5 are blended... or if blending is difficult i shall make two different lines:

1 - 3 - 2 - 4
_ - 4 - 5 - _

anyway, how can i tell Shake to do it recursivelly, for a whole clip repeating the sequence in groups of five frames?

I'm really sorry for such a question, but i'm sure some of you pros can solve it out in a while, i wasbrowsing thru the book and wasn't that easy, at work i didn't have much time to play with Shake yet!

are you trying to do a pulldown? if so there is an option for it in the filein.

No, Mikemarcus, i'm trying to do some strobe effect, for the action i have some sequence like this gives it a jittering and pretty nice move...

Ok, i was pretty bad at explaining that, let's try it somehow easier:

How can i tell shake to play a clip which would normaly be played with the following frames:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10

changing the order as follows:

2 - 5 - 1 - 4 - 3 - 7 - 10 - 6 - 9 - 8

And continuing the same pattern (for the first frame we pick #2 of the original one, for the second frame we pick #5...) for all the following frames of the clip...

I do it manually, but it's pretty harsh since i'd like to apply it to a long clip and be able to change it as i like... so if i had some macro or script to tell Shake to do it...

copy and paste the following code into the text editor, look under the timing tab in the parameters.

Although it doesn't work...
I paste it under the timeline, pops the Globals tab, but aparently nothing changed...
and the clip plays normaly (one frame after the other...)
-shall i change any of the data for the name of the nodes/files i'm using?
Should i apply it to a TimeX or some other node?

oh sure it works, and it's amazingly simple and elegant (i was going to think of a good timeX expression that does it, but this sure is way neater)..

what you have to do is paste the above code into your node window.
then link the spaceholder filein to your real world footage.
