Freezing Particles

I have an emitter which has air blowing down moving my particles. I'm using multi-streak particles.

How do I get my particles to be emitted, then freeze so I can rotate around them?

if you do a cache it is possible to keyframe the time attribute

what attribute should I keyframe? the time attribute on the particles? When I right click to set a keyframe the only key I can set is a driven key.

my time attribute comes up with a time1.outTime node connected to it...so I can't key it. What should I do?

break the connection and keyframe it

oh yeah there's a node you need to add .. for some reason the connection does not input the vales as you'd expect. If you keyframe it and then look at the channel in the graph editor the calues are very small but if you edit the channel there it's what you'd expect.

Lemme see if i can recall which node you need otherwise you shoudl just set keyframes and then edit the channel in the graph editor

well if you connect the output of a multiple divide node to the current time and then set the input 2 to 1 and then either put your expression in input 1 or keyframe it it should work as expected

actually it's a unitToTimeConversion node that you need..

type createNode unitToTimeConversion and connect that to the currenttime and then keyframe or put your exprression into it's input
