I build this bird and created fur on it, but after I render it and try to comp it, I found out that the bird is a little transparent, can anyone please tell me what setting in the fur is causing this, thanks very much!!!
i think i got it, i had the base opacity set to .5, cuz i want the fur to look little bit loose, but why is my base mesh's alpha also get effected, anyone got ideas?
it isnt mentalray shaders just works that way.

One thing by the way. Did you try to chek pass custom alpha in the export options of the renderer?
