Fur On Polygons

i modeled a dog made of polygons. the problem is that there is no fur or just a little fur on the legs and tail. the normals are ok. the fur is ok on the other parts, like the body, the head. does anyone know what the problem might be? i would appreciate any hint! thank you!

use the paint fur attribute tool to create a custom equalizer map that will give your dog an even coat of fur. Then you can paint the areas where you don't want fur.

Hi,

I think you have to rethink your UV layouts. Equalizer maps control the distribution of fur strands. It's an 8 bit grayscale map so there is a chance that polygons 256 times smaller than others won't get any fur strands. If your polygons differ that much in size Maya can't balance the amount of fur strands.
Try subdividing the biggest polygons to get more equally sized faces.
