FX 5900 / Maya 4.5 viewport problem

Hi there folks.

I'd like to know if any of you had experienced problems when maximizing ond minimizing the viewports on maya. I've just bought this card and when I maximize the viewport it messes up with the view area (becomes dark gray full of sketches). Also can I do somethig to it like I did the softquadro on my Ti4600?

Ps. Using a P42.8ht / 1GB RAM, Intel 765-Pearl Board, MSI GF FX5900 128Mb VRAM, and the latest detonator's drivers

Get older drivers (cant remeber offhand wich is the stable one but its realy old)! The new ones work badly in maya because they are so trimmed for games... discarding pro functionality. But yeah this is one reason why pro card are better, they swap out screens more efficently.

Theres a softquaddro mod for FX, but! theres a big but. I tested it and it doesent give as much performace as i would have expected (when compared to the real quaddro that is!!). So the gamer card is still a gamer card no matter what it tells windows it is. But it helps a bit.

Ok.. Thankz for your reply Joojaa, so were you succeful on converting a FX 5900 to a quadro? How? Can U give me some directions? drivers you've used / method?

By the way, I've solved the problem of viewport switching, and yes, it was just the driver, I've picked up the 45.28 detonator, works fine... besides I was unable to make softquadro work

I had the same problem but found that 45.33 worked better. A tech told me that 45.33 drivers were written exclusively for the 5900.
