Hey Instinct,

Looks good man. For now I use convolution with a Flare to achieve custom lens shape for DOFs.

Any plans to release it?

Currently there are no plans on releasing it yet. Am not sure it will be turned into a real usable and fully working plug. Depends on the time i can spare to work on it. Can you do Variable sized convolutions ? (change radii on a perpixel basis) If so i'd definately be interested how to achieve that!

I think he means the convolve Filter which takes an image as the convolution matrix rather than a predefined grid. It's great to do custom DOF effects or glares.
Visually it kinda scatters your matrix image across the luminance of the source pixels so you have perfect control over shape, distribution, density etc.

And as Frank pointed out, yes you can control it's size.

Hey frank been a while,

i know the convolve filter, but the convolution size is fixed (by the input of the kernel image). Is there a way to control
the shape and size per pixel ? (aka z-chan based) Cause i couldnt get that to work (but you know that i'm a 3d Op, so
it might be just me )

well you can control the size of the input image used as the matrix but I don't think you can control the size though an extra channel on a per pixel basis. but I like the idea .

Did some initial work on proper Z-Chan handling:
