Hi there, I read dozens of e-mails that ask for the right video-card for XSI. Here is my experience: I have started running a plain GeForce3 -card (manufacturer:Leadtek) with the OpenGL-fix found in "TOOLS" on Highend3d.
Result: it works just great!
My computerfriends tested the new GF3 Ti500 but it crashed all the time (ELSA), which was a pitty as it is supposed to be the hottest new card. Maybe a few of you get more lucky.
In my school where I teach we use Wildcats for 3D Max and Softimage 1.5.
The plain GeForce3 with the GL-fix is just as good, no weird line-effects etc., just plain beautiful! I am running it with an AMD 1.9 GHZ chip, 750 MB Highspeed-RAM on a Soltek Mainboard.
I was afraid I may have to revert to a more expensive card- the answer is: GF3 works with XSI 2.x.
Thanks for the openGL-fix, it made my day!!!
Cheers,
John
