I would love to see something else indeed that would resemble more to GoWithTheFlow in Soft. But I did manage to work with the script you are talking about by plotting the fcurves of the objects once I had the movement I wanted.

Just select all the nulls, plot their transforms in an action. Then select the action in the explorer, apply the action, and delete all the scripted operators on the nulls.

Playback will be much faster.
