Hi,
i have a polygon mesh from a scanned object and have to create a new better polygon mesh from that.
for the first raw geometric adaption using for example a fine resolved tube, are there ways in maya to somehow project the tubes vertices onto the underlying other geometry?
thanks for answers!
Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding your task, but I would recommend the following alternative: If the whole point is to build a more controlled mesh, I would recommend making the object live and drawing curves on surface. Then detach them, loft/boundary them and convert to polys if desired. You will have much more control that way.
thanks for your answer. this is an alternative i
actually I had another idea:1. use the "cut faces" tool-2.select all new produced edges, invert selection-3.delete all old edges.
I have no idea how to select all those new produced edges. has anybody the solution for that???
that would be a really great help for me...
ok, found myself.: simply select all old vertices and delete corresponding faces
