Good edit sweet?

I'm looking at putting together an edit suite with a G4 for my company. I need an editing program, a large storage area, and a video card that could input/output from/to tape. We'll probably go with Premiere, unless you guys can suggest something better (it does need to be somewhat inexpensive, though). If anyone knows a good, large disk array (like ~30GB or so), I could really use the info.
Thanks

Take a look at a Quatum Snap Server, 100/1000 base T( I Think) ...120 gigs a piece. Also look at High Capacity scsi arrays or Firwire drives.
Final Cut Pro on a G4 is FAR suppier to Preimere in my judgment. But its all a preference thing. Also look to Comotion and After Effects for you compositing needs. Also check out ICE products for Affter Effects ..www.iced.com

yeah final cut pro rocks
you don't need a video card if you're happy with dv quality as the G4 has inbuilt firewire
you just either need a dv camera with record capabilities or a dvcam deck
if you are doing DV, then you don't really need an array- just shove in as many HD's as you can fit, i think you can cram about 100gb into the G4's internal bays
good ide's are fast enough.
keep your audio separate and you'll be fine
commotion, after effects, and combustion would be good for your comping needs

go scsi you'll be happier ....but IDE is getting better. Although with large files like a TARGA seqence for example out of a graphics app where the frames are uncompressed for the most part a 1mb per frame or more SCSI is you're only safe bet . But with MPEG compressed or DV video you can get away with IDE.
