Grease pencil not working

 hi friends,

   i've been trying hard to make the grease pencil tool work.. i have maya 2008 intalled.been trying to make it work by following the installation procedure n number of times.. i don't know if what bit my o/s or maya is 64 or 32.. i don't know how to make it out.

is that being a problem.. someone pls help
this is what i've been following

Installation:
- Copy GPencilTool.mll int he maya plugins' folder (maya/bin/plug-ins)
- Copy GPencilProperties.mel and GPencilValues.mel in you script folder
  (Documents/maya/script)
- Copy GPencil.xpm in icons folder (Documents\maya\8.5\prefs\icons)
- copy glu32.dll in /windows/system32 or in you maya_plugins folder

You still need to load it after that. Open the Window->Settings/Preferences->Plug-in Manager and load the GPencilTool.mll

i don't know if what bit my o/s or maya is 64 or 32..

That's like saying I dont know my home addess. Its printed on your screen. If your maya window says Maya XX (Service pack X) x64 then its 64 bit else its 32 bit.

hi joojaa,

  thanx a lot for your reply.. so it seems its 32 bit as nothing is written. besides i have maya 2008 and it on calling it from plug-in manager its says something like this..

// Error: Plug-in, "GPencilTool" was compiled against a newer version of the Maya API and is incompatible with the current Maya version. (GPencilTool) //

so does this mean i need to look out for newer version of GPencilTool
