Hello,
I have a very large environment and (of course) need to texture it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the best way of creating the ground texture. I was thinking procedurally but I can't seem to get a good one out of the maya options...I would be willing to keep pushing along this track, if I get a confirmation that it is possible to get a good ground procedurally with maya (no plugins unfortunatly).
I guess the other technique would be to use a texture, but I need the camera to be close to the ground and at an shallow angle, so I feel like the texutre would have to be unreasonably large to keep it crisp...
Or I guess I could break the ground into smaller pieces...but that seems like it would coem with its own set of problems.
It would be great to hear how other people have approached this...
