Hi everybody:
I'm rendering a character animation with mental ray. The character has a hair system set to static attatched to his head. I've tried to render it out with scanline and rasterizer modes, and it keeps flickering.
The scene is lighted with mental ray area lights for the rim light and spot lights (with de area light tab switched on) for the main and fill light. First I thought it could be a problem with the light samples, so I proceed to turn off all the lights in the scene and to create two new ones with no sadows and the mental ray area ligth switched off, just setting the lights decay to quadratic and adjusting de intensity. This last render was made with scanline mode to save render time, and the is still there, so I supose it has nothing to do with the ligths.
I don't know where the problem is. May be the head of my character displays too small in the render and mental ray is unable to solve out the hair properly. My render is 720 x 405 px, and I supose that a hair width is smaller than a pixel width (may be this is stupid, who knows).
I've got the same results with and without final gather, with and without mental ray area ligths and with both scanline and rasterizer mode. The anti aliasing quality is set to 2, an the filter I use is lanclzos.
Does anybody knows what I could be doing wrong? I would really apreciate some help at this point.
Thanks in advance
