I've tried making a hair system in Maya and transplanting hair to Jessie's skulcap (in Maya 7.0) The simulation works but there are rendering glitches. If a clump of hair is intersecting the jessie model, it will be rendered as black. For example A front view is rendered, if a clump of hair in the rear side (not vissible in the front view) is intersecting the poser model , this clump will be seen in fron view render as black.
Has anyone tried this?
