Tough seriously dont use it! i mean the hardware render (is NOT hardware render buffer) option is faster more modern and does equally easy (or in fact easier) job of this. I mean the only advantages the hardware render buffer has is the gui for the flip book and showing of line elements the way i see it, And both are very easy to remedy.
So why use 90's technology when you have 00's tech that does the same thing? basically hardware render buffer is deprecated.
Basically Im using the buffer because my stars background wont render out conventionally using layers.
let me guess your starts are particles... Well in that case you SHOULD use hardware render instead(please dont confuse them hardware render buffer and hardware render are NOT the same thing, the other you find in the render globals under renderer. And it by the way can be bound to a render layer and renders form batch normally), sicne ssentially it allows you to render out hugher color resolutions which you will want to use for gamma correctional reasons.
