Hardware Render Issues

Hello all, this is my first post to this site, I have enjoyed coming here for awhile but now I am having a strange issue with Maya 6's hardware renderer.
I am rendering 4 different particles together to create this energy trail to be composited into footage and when I render a singel frame I have no problems.
But when I do a batch render not only does Maya completely ignore the frame # to # I want to render out (i.e.: only frames 1-100) and try and render the whole timeline, it will only renders out black frames.
FYI: The Hardware Render Buffer works fine, however it is far to low quality for what I need or else I would use it. I lose alot of color info with it. Thats why I am not using that. All of my particles are Hardware Render Particles, no Software Render stuff either.
I would REALLY appreciate any help I can get here. I originally posted this in the Maya Render Forum but it seems very few people are looking at that thread... so I thought I might get more hits here.
Thanks in advance!

what are your renderglobals set to. Also you might want to consider makieng a particle cache first

And what card are you using.

Well, my renderglobals were set correctly and I have been caching as I made changes... but somehow it worked. I restarted my computer and after several more failed attempts it just worked. I dunno why. But thanks for the help anyway. I appreciate you taking your time to help. I would have gotten back here sooner but thankfully I was rendering all night long!
thanks!
