Help - Connection Attribute

Hi,

I have duplicated a face (new object) of a polygonal sphere.
I wish that the new face follows the original face.

I have linked the vtx of the face
(connectAtr -f xxx.vtx[0] xxxNew.vxt[0] ...)

but in some cases it does not work because the atribute vxt uses the local coordinate.
How can I do a connection with global coordinates?

Thanks

I obtained it with a runtime expression: I used (for example) the command xform -q -ws..... to store the information in a variable and reapply it to the vtx of the new face...but I wish to make it without runtime exp.

Yes you opted for the worst possible solution.

se xxx.vtx[0] is a alias for a handle teht does not truly exsist! dig into the shape nodes and its node reference thats wherre the real data ais and tehts where the connection must be made.

"connectAttr -f polySurface1.vtx[0] polySurface2.vtx[0];"

With this connection, maya connects the array attribute "pnts"
(// Result: Connected polySurfaceShape1.pnts to polySurfaceShape2.pnts //)
It represents the local space vertex position.

I have also seen the "worldMesh" attribute, but I don't know how I can use it.

you cant.

buty you actualy wahnt the sum of pnts and vrts psoition of a shape.

Bu do use rivet mel its better as it reives the rotation too.
