I'm still learning about rigging characters. This is the second character I rig and I'm having problems with the eyelids. I was told that using blend shapes would be the easiest way of doing the eye lids, but the eyes of the character are big, round and has some subdivisions.
I tried to do blend-shapes but I found it difficult to get the desired shape, and because the eye is round, I would need a lot of in-betweens for it to look good. I then tried another method with clusters, but the eye always looked king of weird on one side because the eyelids aren't symmetrical.
So then I thought I could just use corrective blend-shapes to sort out the problem. I duplicated the mesh, and just added the blend-shape so I could start doing the corrections. But the original mesh changes a little when I activate the blend-shape even though they were both identical.
Then I decided to just use the the head of the mesh to do the corrective blend-shapes. I use Front of chain when I create the Blend-shape, but that doesn't work. So when I activate the blendshape, the rig stops working.
I'm out of ideas Any thoughts on how to do the eyelids?
I've spent too many hours on this..
