Help to avoid color rendering!

Hi All,

Can anyone help me to avoid rendering the 'color' of the fluid and render only the 'incandescence' of the fluid, applied from Fluid attribute-->shading . i need the alpha of the incendesecence of the fluid. can anyone help me??

You should be able to set the color to black. I usually use incandecense instead of color for my fires. Also you can disable color in the cache options, more a matter of principle than an actual time saver.

Hi
Thanx for ur reply. but if i make the color black, i couldnt help discarding the alpha from output.

if i cache it without color option. how can i render the cache? please do help.

I think I could help you, but only if I understand your question...
First off, one only needs to cache dynamic grids that affect the final look of the fluid. Usually this is only density, but if you have enabled the color grid then this will need to be cached as well.
Color and incandescence do not affect alpha output. The alpha is determined by the opacity graph and the transparency attribute.

Color and incandescence are applied the same way, except that color is modulated by light intensity. Both
color and incandescence are scaled by the opacity of
the fluid. This is slightly different from normal surface
shaders, which add in incandescence without any
transparency modulation( a fully transparent lambert
shader can have incandescence, but not a fluid ).

If you elaborate on what you are trying to do it might help.

Hi
I used 'campfire' file available in Fluids example, which contains smoke emitting along with the fire. i need to supress the smoke and render it out. please do help me

I didn't understand your first question either, but I can answer this one... if you import the campfire all you have to do, to get rid of the smoke, is go to the opacity graph and select the first marker/circle/ node (the little circle above the box farthest to the left) and slide it right you'll right away see results.

Hi

Thanx Duncan!! I got the job done. Can you suggest any affordable resource on net to study about the fluids in detail? and that too for a beginner..
