Houdini Paint And Group

Hey all

I wonder if someone could help me with a problem i'm trying too solve.

basically i want to have faces of poly's selected with the paint SOP.

the effect i am trying too achieve is blowing away the concrete between bricks., ive got a pic projected onto a grid.

it would be great if anyone can help.

You would probably have better luck asking on odforce.

i actually solved the problem

by painting the color of my mesh
then applying a GROUP SOP
with the following group by EXPRESSION

point ("/obj/model/paint1", $PT, "Cd", 1) > .5

that basically selects all the points, based on their color attr.
