How Can I Create A New Brush

Hi!
How can I create a new brush? I couldn't find it out from Maya tutorial. I could find only how to modify

an existing one. I need to obtain a brush that looks like this (I attach the image). I am working in

bioinformatics and I need to model a sugar as a brush, each sphere represents an atom.
