How do i uninstance the object

I need to freeze transformation my model, but maya gave me error saying :
"Freeze Transform was not applied because you have instanced nodes in the selected path. //"
I tried to del the history, to get ride off the instance node. How can i disable or del the instance node...
I assume there is a node or something for the object right, since everything in maya is node based. How can i explore the node sturture?

To uninstance a node, simply copy duplicate the node without instancing and delete the original. I have always thought this was lame, but that's how you do it!

There are a bunch of scripts on highend that get rid of it being an instance. One I remember is called make unique or something along those lines.

duplacting and deleting the old instance does not work for me
just tried it

i have about 100 instanced objects - i selected all of them - duplicated withour "instance" - grouped and moved it - deleted old ones - moved new group back in place - all objects are still instanced

Yeah you can try plugins, but the other method has to work as well. Check if you have selected "copy" in duplication settings.

AND, there is one more way. Combine all your objects and then separate them. Obviously this works only on polygon, but its more simple because you dont have to delete nothing.
